Features of The IPad and What to Look For Before Buying One

Apple is a leader in new technology, with their nifty little iPods to their cutting-edge iPhones, well now they have something new to add to their inventory. On January 27, 2010, Apple announced their newest gadget, the iPad. The iPad is a tablet computer that is essentially the same as the iPod touch, only with a bigger screen giving it the computer feel. The iPad and the iPod Touch both have about the same applications and they both run on the same operating system, which is iPhone OS. The iPad is in its beginning stages but it is pretty much guaranteed that within a couple of months, it will become a top product.

The iPad features a pretty large screen compared to the iPod Touch; the screen sizes in at a surprising 9.7 inches with an astoundingly great screen resolution of 1024×768. The screen is also backlit by LED and is of course, a touch screen. The iPad runs with an Apple A4 Processor that operates at one GHz (gigahertz) and has a memory capacity of between 16 to 64 gigabytes. Apple has announced so far that there will be two models being manufactured, the first model will feature Wi-Fi (802.11n) and then the other model will have the same Wi-Fi capabilities as the first model, but will also be on a 3G network, have a GPS system and both models will feature Bluetooth 2.1. Similar to the iPod and the iPhone, the iPad will come with a dock connector (30 pin) that can be used to synchronize the iPad with your iTunes account.

The iPod Touch and the iPhone models all feature the ability to download and use various different applications; the iPad is no different. The iPad will come with a few applications when purchased, the applications are as follows: Mail, Videos, Photos, iPod, iTunes, YouTube, Safari, App Store, Notes, Calendar, Maps, Spotlight and Contacts. There will also be an iBooks application, making the iPad the first device from Apple to use their iBookstore. With the iBooks application, you will be able to download readable content such as books and other publications, from the iBookstore and view it right from your iPad.

Apple has announced that the Wi-Fi iPad models will be available for purchase towards the end of March, 2010, worldwide. You will have to wait until around the end of April 2010 to get your hands on the WI-Fi plus 3G iPad model, it will be available for purchase in the United States as well as multiple other countries. Apple has also given an announcement showing the outlook on the initial pricing of the different iPad models. Both models are available as a 16 GB model, a 32 GB model and a 64 GB model. The Wi-Fi model pricing is said to be as follows: 16 GB will go for $499.00, 32 GB for $599.00 and the 64 GB for $699.00. The Wi-Fi plus 3G iPad models are $629.00 for the 16 GB model, $729.00 for the 32 GB model and $829 for the 64 GB model.

The iPad is pretty much assured that is will be a big hit, it is predicted that as soon as the iPad hits the shelves they will.
